The Universal Law of Perception
helps us to understand that each of us perceive things ... life ... each other, ........ differently.
So, it makes sense that for us all to live in harmony and peace with one another, we need to allow for different perspectives and apply tolerance and patience to try to resolve our differences.
Is this what we do?
Do you?
How do you react when someone disagrees with you, or cuts across what you want to do?
What do you do when reasoned logic gets lost amongst uncontrolled emotions?
What do you do when communication breaks down, when justice in a courtroom is left to the mercy of which clever lawyer can verbally out-spar the other?
The World at War
Everyday we can pick up a newspaper, turn on the TV and be horrified by atrocities that are being carried out around the world.
We can gasp at the awfulness and shake our heads and say it shouldn’t be allowed to happen, but then what.
What do we do as individuals?
We can argue what difference can we make and maybe we wouldn’t know where to begin
So, what’s the answer ...........?
Do nothing my friend or do something?
Stand up and be Counted
Sometimes we have to take up the sword and fight for what we believe in. This is not about being aggressive or violent, this is about having the courage of our convictions and trying to make a difference in this world we live in.
This is the same world we have helped to create.
But before we get on our soapbox and start judging others there is something we can do. We can start to examine our own lives.
What we see on the TV and read in the papers can often be grim and extreme forms of abuse and injustice. What ends up out of control and devastating often begins as a lack of appreciation or respect between people. Power struggles.
What often stops humanity from progressing further, and out of this misery, is the selfish desire to gain the upper hand and lust for power.
True power comes through respect – not through forcing someone’s hand to comply to another’s will.
Such power gained this way will be short-lived.
So, if we want to change the world, we can start by looking at the life we have created for ourselves. Question our motive behind when and why we take action, and if we need to take up the sword – use it carefully, with respect. If we choose to do nothing then accept that decision - don’t bemoan our fate.
We may not be able to change anything but failure simply means at least we have tried, and perhaps need to try another way. To do nothing is inertia.
Many people stand in judgement of others and criticise but don't actually do anything to try and make a difference or attempt to understand the differences. Will you make a stand for something you believe in? Are you prepared to put your head above the parapet in the face of adversity and stand up and be counted?
