Hi, I’m Lorraine Morgan.  For me personally, studying Qabalah and the Tree of Life has been life-changing.  The more I learnt, the more I realised how little I knew, and the more motivated I became to understand more about myself and the part each of us plays in the grand scheme of things – the Bigger Picture

There is a Bigger Picture

There is so much more than just this material plane we live on, and so much more for us to experience other than acquiring possessions and marking out our territory.

Qabalah (Kabbalah) taught me to be less subjective and more objective.  Less focused on me, and more aware of others. I found studying the teachings a challenge. It tested how dedicated and committed I was. I wanted to know everything about everything but it took time and I kept finding myself back at the beginning re-examining the basics and reminding myself what they were. I needed to be dedicated and committed otherwise what was the point.  Qabalah (Kabbalah) is for everyone, but not everyone, may be ready for  Qabalah.

In my perspective to study Qabalah you need to be at a stage in your life when you are ready to take a look, not only at yourself, but also the life you are leading and to accept  the only person that can make a difference to your life - is You.

The journey exploring the Tree of Life is very exciting but I quickly realised enlightenment cannot be given to you – you have to work for it but not in the way you might think, you are working on yourself, getting to know yourself because the key thing in Qabalah is Know Thyself.

The Journey begins with a commitment.  A commitment  you make to yourself, as a personality, to get to Know Thyself.  It’s not about doing loads of meditating and blowing your head off with visions, it’s about a journey of self-discovery. The reason I found it exciting was because I started to look at life in a completely different way.  It was almost as if I had to turn things on their head and view life upside down.

There are likely to be times of tremendous highs and times when you may feel quite low because maybe you’re discovering things that you don’t like about yourself or struggling to come to terms with who you really are, and your reactions in certain situations.

The phases of tremendous highs are where you discover that the process actually works and your life starts taking on a face that you want and enjoy. For me, I learnt how to switch off my personality mind and to make time to step out of my day-to-day life and contemplate; I gave myself time to consider things before I made decisions and stopped reacting so much in ways that did not work or bring me the desired outcome.

The whole thing about Qabalah is to improve your life but to do that we need to know where the hazards are, so half of the time is discovering where our Achilles heel is.  In other words, looking at what brings us down and considering whether the way we react in certain situations and with certain people works well, or not. If our reactions do not work and bring us what we want then looking at how we can change that.  The dedication and commitment come into play here because we have a choice whether to act or not.

Many people feel they have a function and a part to play in life.

They do.  We all do.

There are many called but few are chosen

We are all special with magical talents and abilities waiting to be expressed.

To become a Qabalist not only takes dedication and commitment but endurance too - to keep going.  The aim is to teach others by example but before we can rush out to help others, we have to help ourselves first.  This takes time and patience.

The Qabalah is first and foremost about Being and Knowing yourself.  So that means being yourself at all times.

There is no place for lip service.  Talking about what you want to do or be is a good start but it needs to be backed up with action.  Enlightenment has to be worked towards – thinking you already know it all or don’t have to do anything other than just Be is a misconception.  Enlightenment comes at a price.  Everything in the Universe works on a level of exchange.  The exchange for enlightenment is not on the monetary level, it’s on all levels: physically, emotionally and mentally, and if you count the cost then maybe you don’t want it enough.

To fully embrace Qabalah means to change your life forever.  Only you can change your life and you have to ask yourself if you have a Will that is strong enough, and focused enough to succeed.

Qabalah helps us to recognise what is happening in our life and teaches how to walk in time with the natural flow of the universe, and to go with the tide rather than be dragged along by it for if you continually try to battle against the tide you will simply run out of energy.

For me -  Lorraine Morgan, this is what studying Qabalah (Kabbalah) means.
